Split Gripping Fishing Rods

Post by Jirwin6985 on Tue Sep 29, 2009 9:51 pm

I figuared id throw i post in here since the forum is kinda dead. So after much debate i decided to jump in a split grip 2 of my fishing rods. Im very happy with how they turned out and would like to thank Mike and Jake for some tips and what to do. I first cut all the cork i wanted to remove off. I also cut cork off the foregrip. Then hit it with some low heat to get the remaining epoxy off and sanded the blank. I used some silver paint to batch the wraps and make it look alittle more finished then coated the bare blank in flex coat epoxy to finish...It came out way better than i expected and am very pleased with the results. I will definatly be doing this to more of my rods! On to the pics.. Laughing
